This book is perfect for those who want fantasy without the overpowering romance aspect! Tory did an amazing job at meshing two very different, yet similar elements together into a storyline that keeps you entranced from the very beginning..... Great job, Tory! I can’t describe how much I enjoyed this novel.....
I was immediately drawn in by and attached to the characters. Their charisma, morals, and love for each other made me feel like I was a part of their group, too. I truly cared what happened to them and am very invested in what is going to happen to them in the next two books in the trilogy...
If you love high fantasy stories from the likes of Tolkien, Sanderson, and Rothfuss, you’ll absolutely fall in love with this novel. ~Hope

I’d like to start this review with saying how big of an accomplishment it is to write a book...
I was shocked to see multiple POV's when I first opened the book. To be a first-time author and successfully create multiple POV's is not an easy task..... I will say that the ending leaves you wanting more and craving the second book. I can’t wait to get my hands on the rest of this series and see what the futures holds for these characters.

Wow, what an action-packed debut from Tory Forest!
The action in this book kicks off immediately - we jump straight into it within the first few pages and things don't let up for the majority of the book... Tory has a beautifully descriptive writing style which allowed for me to really clearly visualize everything about this story: the characters, the landscape, the battle scenes. This honestly felt like watching a movie in my head while I was reading.
